Partner
History The senior partners of TSG Capital have collectively been involved in
hundreds of transactions with technology and entertainment focused companies
spanning back to the 1970s. In 1979, we started The Value Corporation, which was a tax-leveraged
third partner lessor of IBM computer systems to major corporations such as Leaseway, BP, Sandoz, Capital Records and countless
others. In 1986 we sold our lease
portfolio and moved to Silicon Valley. In 1986, we engaged in Acorn Capital Partners in Silicon Valley. Acorn Capital was a venture capital
fund. We were the original investors
in many of the Silicon Valley startups.
Some of which you are very familiar with and some of whom never made
it to the IPO stage. In 1987, we started a companion fund called the Caesar Fund to get
involved with technology companies that were further along and had some
collateral. In 1993, we moved the
Caesar Fund to Washington, DC where there were many technology companies
fitting the criteria of the fund that had started by doing government
servicing and now wanted to commercialize in their products and services. In 1999, we were forced to broaden our base from technology-based
internet companies to all companies with collateral. Now TSG Capital services nearly every
industry sector providing asset based collateralized lending for Operating
Lines of Credit and M&A activities. The Caesar Fund has been acquired by an insurance company and TSG
Capital is the exclusive agent to the fund.
